น. คำประพันธ์ประเภทร้อยกรองในภาษาบาลี, อัตราของฉันท์ คือ ๔ บาท เรียกว่า คาถาหนึ่ง. คาถาพัน น. บทประพันธ์เรื่องมหาเวสสันดรชาดกที่แต่งเป็นคาถา ภาษาบาลีล้วน ๆ พันบท, เรียกการเทศน์มหาเวสสันดรชาดกที่เป็น คาถาล้วน ๆ อย่างนี้ว่า เทศน์คาถาพัน. ๒ น. คำเสกที่ถือว่าศักดิ์สิทธิ์.
